Items We Haul
Wondering what items we haul? At Haul Guys, we can take away most non-hazardous items that two people can lift. Our comprehensive list of items includes, but is not limited to:
- Furniture: Couches, sofas, hide-a-beds, and more
- Appliances: Washers, dryers, refrigerators, and other household appliances
- Mattresses: All sizes and types
- Junk: Garage and attic clutter, boxes, books, tools, and miscellaneous items
- Construction Debris: Renovation debris, tile, old lumber, fencing, decking and other miscellaneous construction material
- Yard Waste: Garden refuse, branches, hedge clippings, firewood and other yard debris
If you have something not listed here, donโt worry! Just let us know, and weโll do our best to accommodate your needs.
Please note that some items may incur an additional charge for proper disposal. Rest assured, we will communicate any extra costs upfront, and they will be included in the price we provide. There are never any hidden chargesโjust transparent and honest service.
Common Items We Remove
Homeowners, renters, and businesses across our service area count on us for a wide range of removal jobs, including:
- Old couches, mattresses, and bedroom furniture during a move or upgrade
- Appliances left behind by previous tenants
- Garage, attic, and shed cleanouts full of years of accumulated items
- Construction debris after a renovation or demolition project
- Yard waste and storm debris after seasonal cleanup
Items We Donโt Accept
For safety and environmental reasons, weโre unable to take hazardous materials, including paint, oils, chemicals, and asbestos. If you need guidance on proper disposal of these items, the Austin Resource Recovery department is a helpful resource.
For large-scale cleanouts with a high volume of items, our roll-off dumpster rental service may be a more cost-effective option than per-item pickup.
Items We Haul FAQs
Q: Do I need to prepare items before pickup?
Having most items piled in one central location is most cost-effective, though not necessary. For heavier furniture or appliances, clearing a path helps us work efficiently.
Q: Do you donate or recycle usable items?
Yes. Whenever possible, we donate items in good condition and recycle materials like metal, cardboard, and electronics rather than sending them to a landfill.
Q: What if I have an oversized or unusual item?
Just let us know the details when you call. We can typically accommodate items outside our standard list, including hot tubs, sheds, and playscapes.
Q: Is there anything you canโt lift?
If an item requires more than two people to safely lift, let us know in advance so we can plan accordingly.
Q: Do you service both residential and commercial properties?
Yes. We handle both residential and commercial junk removal projects, from single-item pickups to full property cleanouts.
What Happens After Pickup?
Whenever possible, we divert usable items away from the landfill. Furniture and household goods in good condition are often donated, while metal, cardboard, and electronics are sorted for recycling. Items that canโt be reused or recycled are disposed of responsibly at a licensed facility. Most pickups can be scheduled for the same day or next day, depending on your location and our availability.
How We Price What We Haul
Pricing is based on the volume and type of items you need removed, not a flat per-item fee. For a full breakdown of what affects your price, see our junk removal cost guide.
Q: Can you remove items from multiple rooms or areas?
Absolutely. Weโre happy to collect items from your garage, attic, yard, and any other area in a single visit.
